Edmon Begoli, PhD is a director of ORNL's organization for research on protected data (SPDF), where he is responsible for research and design of large-scale systems for resilient and reliable computing on protected data. He also serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the joint DOE and VA precision medicine program (MVP CHAMPION), and the program with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) focused on the application of HPC/AI methods for the purpose of program integrity (fraud detection, etc.). Edmon is a member of IEEE, ACM, and the Apache Software Foundation (ASF). Edmon holds undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees in Computer Science. He is currently a visiting researcher/scholar with the UC Berkeley EECS' RISE Lab.
